In Which I Try to Save the World: Part-Time Poets Collection 1 is Available Now!
We made a book!
In October,
1 casually dropped into our group chat and said “I had a fun idea!”Less than two months later that idea is sitting on my kitchen table next to my computer as I type this.
In Which I Try to Save The World2 is a collection of poems from our first 18 issues, plus a few new ones. It explores the themes of how we try to save the world; by mothering, raging, grieving, hoping, and being.
“Because love, in all its forms, be it peonies, paint, piccolos, pause, or salt and pepper, spills just like light.” -From “Just Like Light” by Megan Sciarrino3
This collection of poems is a love letter for those who seek the light. These words are for the weary, the wicked, and the wounded—for those working hard to fill their days with wonder. We believe poetry is the perfect place to unpack what it means to be a mother, an artist, and a human in today’s world. We hope these words meet you right where you are and that they offer you the comfort, connection, and cold hard rage we all need to keep going. May they bring you one step closer to embracing your own wonderful, messy, unbreakable light.4
“What an intimate, gutsy, beautiful collection of poetry. Incredibly piercing, yet incredibly tender. Made me want to run to a blank page, which is about the highest praise I know how to offer.” -
